Midnight Shockwave: Senate Approves ‘Born in America Act’ in Historic Vote

WASHINGTON — In a dramatic midnight vote that immediately set off nationwide debate, the U.S. Senate has approved the “Born in America Act,” a sweeping proposal led by Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-LA) that would restrict eligibility for federal office to natural-born U.S. citizens.

The bill passed 51–49 after the Vice President cast the decisive vote shortly after midnight, marking one of the most consequential citizenship-related actions in recent congressional history.
